“Go with a list, and ask yourself certain questions. If an item of clothing is on sale, would you buy it if it were full price? Will it transition from day to night? Do you really need it? If the answer is no, that doesn’t means you shouldn’t buy it, but how much do you want it?”

Good advice from Tim Gunn, I just finished all my back to school clothes shopping and I’m super happy with my wardrobe for next semester.  I went through my closet and threw away/donated/sold about 60% of it, clothes that didn’t fit, too trendy, where did that even come from, etc.  It was so cathartic.  I kept and rediscovered only my clothes that fit well and looked good, then made a list of some wardrobe staples I needed (black flats, white v-neck, etc.), and I am so happy with the result!  Clothes that all fit and mix and match together, no more running around in my underwear in the morning trying to find something to wear.  I need to start dressing better anyway, I’ll be living in France in the Spring and all the Europeans I’ve ever known have been very well dressed.  The only thing I have left to get is some long, colored necklaces, but I’m holding out until I get to Fayetteville, where they have Dollar Jewelry, everything in the store is a dollar, it’s fantastic.
